SMS (text messaging)
Follow these 3 simple steps to get up-to-the-minute bus information on your mobile phone:
Create a text message
Enter the 8-digit stop number shown on the bus stop flag or at the bottom of the timetable case
For example, 32900109 is the code for Stonebow SB.
Send the text message to 64422
A charge of 12p plus your standard network SMS rate applies.
You will receive a reply within about 30 seconds which will tell you the route numbers and times of the next bus departures from your stop.
- If the time is shown in minutes (eg. 3 mins) this is a real-time prediction
- If the time is shown using the 24-hour clock (eg. 15:10) this is a scheduled time (ie. from the published timetable).
Scheduled times are shown either when the bus is not fitted with real-time equipment or where the bus has temporarily lost its connection to the real-time system.
If a departure time is followed by LF, this means that the bus will be an accessible Low Floor vehicle.
If you have a smartphone, you can get real-time information for free by using the QR and NFC codes on our on-street timetables.
