Internet and smartphones
Several web-based services take their information from the Yorkshire real-time system.
These all provide exactly the same information as the yournextbus SMS system, and are free to use (except for your usual internet or mobile data fees).
A variety of free travel information apps are available to download for Android and Apple devices.
QR and NFC
Our on-street bus timetables now include a QR code and and NFC tag which can both be used to access free real-time information on your smartphone. Where you see one of the new-style timetables, look out for the section at the bottom of the timetable panel to find stop-specific real-time information.
Traveline provides a national bus information service, incorporating real-time information where available. Their nextbuses.mobi service is designed specifically for web-enabled smartphones, but will also work on any PC or laptop.
Google Maps shows a range of traffic and transport information for York and throughout the world. This service is available through your web browser or as an app.
South and West Yorkshire
Metro (West Yorkshire Combined Authority) and Travel South Yorkshire both provide easy-to-use mobile web pages showing real-time bus information across the Yorkshire region. These sites are mainly text-based so are ideal for slower internet connections. You can bookmark one or more bus stop displays in your web browser for regular use.
