Park & Pedal

The Park & Pedal scheme helps you to combine cycling with York's Park & Ride services. It's a fast way to commute or shop and a great way to fit some physical activity into your day.

Simply drive to a Park & Ride site, park for free and complete the rest of your journey into York by bike.

Alternatively, you can cycle to any Park & Ride site, park your bike and then hop onto one of the fast and frequent Park & Ride bus services into the city.

Please note: The facility at Monks Cross Park & Ride is available to people intending to park and travel on to either the Monks Cross shopping estate or the Vangarde site.

You can either bring your bike with you on each trip (if you have a folding bike or a bike rack attached to your car) or you can store your bike securely at a Park & Ride site using one of our lockers. Secure cycle lockers have been installed at all 6 Park & Ride sites. All sites are covered by 24-hour CCTV surveillance.

Please note:

• the cycle lockers at the Designer Outlet Park & Ride are not available to staff who work at businesses on the site
• Askham Bar lockers are not available for staff or students from York College
• Grimston Bar lockers are not available for staff or students from University of York or York Science Park
• Poppleton Bar lockers are not available for staff working at Northminster Business Park

Secure cycle lockers

Pay a one-off, refundable deposit and then choose whether to pay monthly or annually.

You get 12 months for the price of 10 if paying annually.

• Key deposit - refundable when you return your key: £15
  • Pay monthly: £12 per month (£144 for a full year)
  • Pay for a full year: £120
