York is situated on the East Coast Main Line. London is around two hours away by train, thanks to high speed rail links. Trains depart every half-hour with at least 25 direct trains each weekday.
Leeds is less than half an hour away and many of the UK’s regional centres can be reached direct the same morning- eg. Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle. There is also a direct hourly rail link to Manchester International Airport.
York railway station is situated to the west of the city centre, just outside the city walls.
Poppleton railway station, 3 miles north-west of York, is served by hourly trains to York, Harrogate and Leeds.
