If you're interested in taking part in organised cycle rides, join in with one of these local cycling groups or organised group rides:

  • Breeze Poppleton - ladies from Poppleton and the surrounding area, cycling through lovely, mainly flat lanes, to the north and west of York
  • Clifton Cycling Club - founded in 1895, Clifton Cycling Club have Road, MTB and Junior (Go-Ride) sections. Weekend social and training rides as well as road-racing and time-trialling events
  • Cycling UK (CTC York) - founded in 1976, CTC York regularly ride out to North Yorkshire and beyond
  • e-Bike Cycling (U3A) - long distance electric bike rides on the third Thursday of each month
  • Get Cycling CIC - a not-for-profit community interest company promoting cycling for leisure, transport, health, happiness and the environment
  • Sustrans - Sustrans volunteers carry out a range of activities from looking after the National Cycle Network to leading rides and walks
  • Velo Club York - a British Cycling affiliated racing cycling club in York. Home of York's Tuesday and Thursday chain gangs, Saturday river ride and Sunday café ride
  • York Bike Belles - easy social rides every month plus bike maintenance workshops, bike loans, cycle friends, #TravelWithTots sessions and more! Everyone welcome
  • York Breeze Rides - British Cycling trained Breeze Champions organise a range of free rides for women around the York area. Rides take place most weeks and explore local routes in small friendly group
  • York Cycle Campaign - the campaign works to make cycling in York safer, more convenient and accessible for all residents
  • York Cycling Tours - explore the ancient city of York on our award winning bike tour with an entertaining, knowledgeable guide
  • York Greenways - join a group of volunteers caring for the traffic free greenways in York used by walkers, runners and cyclists
  • York Rally - an annual event, bringing York cyclists together since 1945. Grand gathering on the Knavesmire in June. Free, family-friendly and volunteer-run, with rides, racing, trade show and more!
  • York Rouleurs - a friendly British Cycling affiliated cycling club with weekly rides for different levels of experience and ability
  • York Tandem Club - helping people with disabilities to access the countryside by tandem bike
  • York Wednesday Wheelers - full-day rides every Wednesday. Up to 7 different rides of varying distance and pace
