York Walking Festival

The York Walking Festival is taking place from 19 September to 4 October 2026.

There will be some exciting and interesting group walks for you to join. These include the Bat Walk, Fungus Foray, Weedy Walk and History & Botany of Heslington Open Fields in the 19th Century. There may also be some archaeology themed walks to look forward to. See this webpage for the walks details in early August or the printed leaflet at community hubs and other locations in late August.

If you'd like to contribute a group walk, get involved in organising the walking festival or contribute ideas, please get in touch on email itravel@york.gov.uk. The deadline for getting your group walk in the leaflet is 20th July.
