Versailles star encourages visitors to enjoy York’s attractions this summer
Television star Alexander Vlahos is reminding visitors that they can enjoy York’s attractions for longer this summer - by making use of the city’s extended Park & Ride service.
Alexander, who’s best known for starring as Philippe in the popular television series Versailles and currently playing Romeo at Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre, has been making full use of York’s bus services during his ten-week stay in the city. He is encouraging anyone visiting Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre and the city’s many other attractions to make use of the Park & Ride service to and from Askham Bar, which has been extended into the evenings until Sunday 2nd September.
City of York Council’s Executive Member for Transport and Planning, Councillor Peter Dew, said: “I’m pleased to hear that Alexander has enjoyed using the city’s bus services during his stay in York!”
Marc Bichtemann, Managing Director of First York, which operates the Park & Ride service on behalf of City of York Council, said: “If you’re planning on visiting York this summer, the late night Park & Ride service to and from Askham Bar enables you to extend your visit into the evening. The bus stops on Tower Street are just a couple of minutes’ walk from Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre and there will always be a bus available after every evening performance.”
