Sustainable September: York businesses invited to networking breakfast
As part of a month-long programme of activities planned to mark Sustainable September, City of York Council’s iTravel team is inviting local businesses to a Travel2Work networking breakfast.
The free event will take place at Jamie’s Italian in York city centre on Thursday 27 September, from 7.45am to 9am, and is an opportunity for businesses to learn more about the sustainable travel initiatives available to them.
Councillor Peter Dew, City of York Council’s Executive Member for Transport and Planning, said: “This free event is an opportunity for businesses to come together and discuss any barriers that deter their employees from walking, cycling or catching the bus to work. There will be plenty of free advice and ideas on how to overcome any obstacles in order to encourage employees to ditch the car in favour of more sustainable forms of transport . It’s also a chance for businesses to share their sustainable travel successes with other workplaces.”
A limited number of free places are available and businesses keen to attend can register at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/travel2work-networking-breakfast-tickets-49086632439
