Summer buses open up the countryside
Seasonal bus services will provide access to the countryside for York residents from this Sunday 5th May.
The new Nidderdale Rambler service 823 runs every Sunday and bank holiday for the summer season until 20th October 2013, to Harrogate, Brimham Rocks, Pateley Bridge, Lofthouse, Scar House Reservoir and Middlesmoor in Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The bus picks up at York University at 0850, opposite York Station at 0905 and at Tadcaster Bus Station at 0920, returning from Middlesmoor at 1555.
Fountains Flyer service 812 also restarts for the summer season this weekend, running every Sunday and bank holiday until 20th October 2013. This service runs to Ripon, Fountains Abbey, Pateley Bridge and Grassington, providing access to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The bus runs from Easingwold at 0850, opposite York Station at 0920 and at Boroughbridge at 0955, returning from Grassington at 1600.
These services are provided by the Dales & Bowland Community Interest Company, with funding from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund via DITA, and are designed to provide a sustainable means of access to the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales for local residents and visitors to the area. They form part of the DalesBus network.
