Riverside routes affected by flooding

Wednesday 28th November 2012

Walking, Cycling, Driving

Several roads, footpaths and cycle lanes in York are currently affected by flooding. All riverside paths and riverside cycle lanes are affected, including Millennium Bridge. Please avoid travelling in or through flooded areas at all times, and take extra care if cycling or driving through heavy rain or standing water.

River levels have peaked today (Wednesday) and should now start to fall, atlhough more rain is forecast this week. Although river levels remain high, we have not yet seen the level of flooding experienced in 2000 and York is certainly open for business and for tourists visiting the City.

More information on bus services currently affected can be found at Bus services affected by flooding.
