New summer buses announced to York Maze
Visitors to York will find it easier to access some of the region’s most popular visitor attractions this summer, as local bus company EYMS announce a brand new bus service to York Maze.
The new service 46M will run between York City Centre and York Maze during the summer holidays. Buses will pick up at Station Road and Merchantgate in York, getting to York Maze at 10:50, and then going on to Pocklington via Yorkshire Air Museum. The service starts on Saturday 18th July, and then runs every day except Sundays and Bank Holidays until Saturday 5th September.
The return journey, calling first at Pocklington and the Air Museum, leaves York Maze at 16:25, so visitors get plenty of time to explore the maze before returning home.
Tom Pearcy from York Maze said, “We are delighted to be working with EYMS to provide our visitors with another option for getting to York Maze. In addition to the giant maize maze we now have over 20 rides, attractions and shows, so it is fantastic that the bus timings will enable visitors to enjoy a full day out at York Maze.”
EYMS Commercial Manager Bob Rackley thinks that the bus will be very popular with visitors to the city. “York Maze is getting more popular every year, but due to the rural location it’s difficult to get there unless you have a car,” he says. “We hope our summer bus service will help ensure that everyone has a chance to visit this fantastic attraction.”
Adult return tickets are £4.20, and child returns just £2.10. All York Family day tickets are available for just £9.00 for a family of five.
Visitors using the bus will also get discounted admission to York Maze saving £1 per person.
Bus times are available online, by picking up a leaflet from the Bus Point in York Rail Station or York Tourist Information Centre, via the company’s website www.eyms.co.uk or by ringing BusLine on 01482 59 29 29.
