Go Ultra Low York
York aims to be an exemplar for ultra low emission technologies and travel choices in the region.
York is now one of 8 ‘Go Ultra Low’ cities in the UK chosen by the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) to accelerate the uptake and use of cleaner vehicles between now and 2020, following our successful bid for funds in 2016. This award follows on from a successful bid for monies from the Clean Bus Technology Fund.
As part of the Go Ultra York scheme, we will be installing a city wide network of high power rapid charger Hubs. These offer high levels of reliability and resilience designed to give confidence and convenience to plug-in vehicle drivers charging up in York.
What is Go Ultra Low?
Go Ultra Low is a joint government and car industry campaign to encourage even more drivers to switch to electric. It is currently supported by Audi, BMW, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault, Toyota, Volkswagen, the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT), and the Government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles.
