Lindsay and her lucky Just30 Challenge

Lindsay Robson of Harden Close in York won £50 worth of vouchers to spend on cycling accessories and parts at Cyclestreets after being visited by i-Travel York’s Travel Adviser, Daria and signing up to a ‘Just 30 Challenge’ in June.

In order to achieve her 30 minutes of physical activity a day, as recommended by health professionals, Lindsay decided to take a longer route to work and went into town on her bike. She said: “It wasn’t hard to do half an hour a day. In fact, it was very achievable!”

Lindsay also used her free i-Travel York solar powered pedometer given to her with her Challenge to total up the number of steps she took over the course of the week. “It’s amazing how quickly it got to 10,000 steps a day, it doesn’t take a lot," she said.

After completing ‘Just 30’ for a full week, Lindsay returned her Challenge card to us and was lucky enough to win one of the main prizes in our first prize draw. Lindsay said that she felt the vouchers were very apt for the initiative and will now carry on her new routine. She said: “It was really worthwhile – I walked a bit before the Challenge and occasionally cycled. But the Challenge definitely encouraged me to do more, and I’ll definitely continue what I’ve been doing!”
