Roads and routes affected by flooding
Due to heavy rainfall throughout this week, some roads and routes in York have been affected by localised flooding. River levels are expected to peak tonight (Friday) at 3.9M above summer levels, but may rise slightly over the weekend as more rain is expected across parts of North Yorkshire.
Please avoid travelling in or through flooded areas at all times, and take extra care if cycling or driving through heavy rain or standing water. All riverside paths and cycle routes are likely to be affected.

City of York Council is reassuring residents and businesses that provisions are in place over Christmas and New Year should localised flooding occur. Front line teams are on standby to work round the clock if required to protect residents, tourists and keep York open for business.
