Bus services affected by flooding

Some bus services in the York area are currently being affected by flooding, although the A19 south of Fulford is now open again.

A flood warning is in effect for York. The River Ouse peaked at 4.56m above normal levels on Wednesday morning but has now fallen significantly meaning the majority of bus services are back on their normal route.

The following roads are currently closed due to flooding:

  • Main Street, Nether Poppleton
  • Hauling Lane and Mill Lane, Acaster Malbis
  • York Road, Naburn
  • B1228, Elvington Bridge
  • B1222, Cawood Bridge

Fulford Road, Skeldergate, , Fordlands Road, Huntington Road and Knavesmire Road have now re-opened.

Bus routes in the York are are affected as follows:

  • Route 1 – Not affected.
  • Route 2 (Rawcliffe Bar Park & Ride) – Not affected.
  • Route 3 (Askham Bar Park & Ride) – Back on normal route.
  • Routes 4, 5, 6 – Not affected.
  • Route 7 (Designer Outlet Park & Ride) – Back on normal route.
  • Route 8 (Grimston Bar Park & Ride) – Not affected.
  • Route 9 (Monks Cross Park & Ride) – Not directly affected but traffic management for the emergency repairs on A1036 Heworth Green may cause some delays at peak times.
  • Route 10 – Main Street, Nether Poppleton is closed so buses are running from Millfield Lane, via Ebor Way and Dikelands Lane back onto normal line of route at Main Street.
  • Routes 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 – Not affected.
  • Routes 19B and 19L – Not affected.
  • Route 20 – Main Street, Nether Poppleton is closed so buses are running from Millfield Lane via Ebor Way, Allerton Drive and Riversvale Drive back on to normal line of route at Main Street and vice versa.
  • Route 21 – Buses cannot serve Acaster Malbis village but are still calling at the Caravan Park.
  • Routes 24 and 26 – Back on normal route.
  • Route 29 – Not affected.
  • Route 30 – Not affected.
  • Route 31 – Not affected.
  • Route 35 – Back on normal route.
  • Route 36 - Back on normal route.
  • Route 37 – Not affected.
  • Route 40 – Not affected.
  • Route 42 – B1222 Naburn Lane is closed so buses are only running on the southern section of the route.
  • Route 44 – Not affected.
  • Routes 142 and 143 – Not affected.
  • Route 181 – Not affected.
  • Routes 412 and 413 – Not affected.
  • Coastliner services from Leeds (routes X40, X43, X45, 743, 840, 843, 844 and 845) – Not affected.
  • Routes from East Yorkshire (routes X4, X46, X47, 195, 196, 744, 746 and 747) – Back on normal route.
  • Route 415 - Back on normal route.
