Park & Ride route changes from 28th Jan

Park and ride logo

First and City of York Council are introducing some route changes to Park & Ride services 2 (Rawcliffe Bar) and 59 (Poppleton Bar) from Sunday 28th January.

The changes to service 2 are necessary due to the low bridge on Leeman Road and the replacement of the current diesel bendy buses with zero-emission, electric double-decker buses. Service 59 will now operate via Leeman Road using 100% electric single-decker buses. The alterations to the route will also have a minor impact on the timetables for these services, which are available to view in the 'Forthcoming' tab of our timetables page here.

These route changes enable the Park & Ride buses to become fully electric, whilst maintaining frequent, low-cost services for millions of yearly visitors and local residents.

2/2A

Service 2 from Rawcliffe Bar will travel into the city along Bootham and no longer serve Leeman Road. This will create a new stop outside the Theatre Royal for inbound journeys. The bus then completes a loop over Lendal Bridge to serve Station Avenue and Museum Street on its return to the Park and Ride.

59

Service 59 from Poppleton will complete a new loop, travelling along Water End, Salisbury Road and Kingsland Terrace to join Leeman Road and then continue its existing route to serve Clifford Street and return. Leeman Road and the National Railway Museum will be served.
