York to host Bus Accessibility Day
On Saturday 23 September, York’s bus operators will be hosting Bus Accessibility Day at the Vangarde Shopping Park, and everyone is welcome to come and join us and have a look.
The buses will be parked at the old John Lewis car park at Vangarde Shopping Park between 11.00am and 2.30pm.
If you have a disability, or care for someone who does, we’d encourage you to come along and talk to operators, practice getting on and off with wheelchairs, or perhaps to show a SEND child the layout, without the pressure of the bus moving off or too many other passengers being on board.
The day is designed for anyone who would like to get on, off and around the inside of a bus in a more relaxed atmosphere, and also to talk to operators about any issues you may have.
See details of available parking and time restrictions at Vangarde Shopping Park. If you are arriving by Park & Ride into Monks Cross we'll have a shuttle bus to take you over to the buses.
There's no need to book and you can turn up at any time between 11.00am and 2.30pm. There will be staff on hand to help and arrows around the site to point the way.
